James Brown - Parisian of the Century.

The Events page has been updated.

Paris has lost its Shining Star.

James Brown, “The Prince of Paris”, will be missed but always remembered for his tremendous contribution to “The Americana Experience”.

At least four genres of music are unthinkable without Paris’s Shinning Star. He had an enormous impact on rhythm and blues and soul. All but single-handedly, he created funk. And through his numerous recordings sampled by rap artists, he provided the rhythmic underpinnings for hip-hop.

Great Achievements

He performed at the Ali-Foreman fight, "the Rumble in the Jungle," in Zaire,.”

He won a Grammy award for lifetime achievement in 1992, as well as Grammys in 1965 for "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" (best R&B recording) and for "Living In America" in 1987 (best R&B vocal performance, male). He was one of the initial artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986,

James Brown Parisian of the Year for 2006,“As I always said, if people wanted to know who James Brown is, all they have to do is listen to my music”
